About our school
At Dalian American International School (DAIS), excellence is a standard, an expectation, and a state of mind. Nestled in a valley of the Golden Pebble Beach Resort, the school is committed to providing an academically challenging and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Encouraged by the Dalian local government and companies establishing a presence in the area, DAIS serves the growing expatriate community in this rapidly expanding region.
Accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges, DAIS offers an American/International curriculum for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 and currently serving over 700 students from 25 nationalities. The purpose-built facility provides over 11,000 square meters of learning space and enhances the delivery of well resourced, high quality programs. With 18 AP courses, and array of fine arts and extracurricular, students of various interests and talents can be challenged in this resourceful and inspiring environment.
In 2010, DAIS founded an exciting new high school division, the Dalian Huamei Academy (DHA), which serves Chinese national students on the same campus in a boarding environment. In 2018, eight years after the establishment of the DHA, Dalian Huamei Bilingual School (DHBS) was founded. DHBS offers a dual-tracked high standard bilingual, bicultural program that blends the curriculum and philosophy of both Chinese and western educational system.
The school views students’ achievement as a shared responsibility, and all stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, school administrators, and community leaders play a role in supporting student learning. Our faculty is comprised of highly skilled, experienced professional, many with advanced degrees.
Modern, western-style teacher housing is located on campus in a pleasant, gated community. Amenities include two gymnasiums, 25m pool, all-weather sports field, fitness center, tennis court, dance studio, Hungry Scholar Café, and access to the nearby Raffles Medical Clinic. The location of our campus, situated in the Golden Pebble Beach National Resort Area, promotes a healthy lifestyle; walking distance to the beach; and biking, hiking, and golfing nearby. Please see our website at daischina.org for more information and details.
